About the role You’ll be responsible for the management and upkeep of the Sport Therapy rooms and equipment as well as providing technical support for practical classes, Independent Studies and Sport Therapy clinics. You will have a demonstrable ability to apply experience, knowledge and skills to a Sport Therapy environment and have knowledge and experience of Sport Therapy equipment. Principal accountabilities 1. Provide Technical support for practical classes and research in Sport and Exercise Science. 2. Help maintain the efficient operation and orderly appearance of the Discipline work areas, in particular The Sport Therapy rooms and associated resources. 3. Provide technical support for the Sport Therapy Clinic. 4. Provide relevant technical assistance for student projects. 5. Assist with supervision and training of trainee technicians. 6. Construct and/or install new apparatus and equipment, maintain existing apparatus as appropriate. 7. Help to maintain material stocks, spares etc. and report deficiencies to the Senior Technician. 8. Demonstrate in relevant practical classes as required. 9. Provide technical assistance to other areas of the College as required by the Technical Team Leader or Technical Manager. 10. Undertake appropriate technician development programmes. 11. Ensure local compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations and policies. In this role of a Community Activator, you will: Maintain and develop new partnerships and relationships within the local communities and with other local cycling delivery partners within Nottingham to provide British Cycling with the most effective routes to market to deliver its recreation programmes. Develop, coordinate, and contribute to the delivery of a local recreation programme for adults, families, and children and young people. Developing the local workforce and community volunteers to ensure sustainability of the local programme. Feed into the Regional Development plan ensuring an integrated and coherent pathway of cycling opportunities is in place for the designated area. Linking recreational cycling with clubs, schools, businesses, and others. Targeting non-cyclists, returning cyclists and those with low physical activity levels Work with local communities and workplaces to develop the recreation pathway, raising awareness of the work of British Cycling, growing, and diversifying participation and supporting more people to cycle more frequently Support, and build capacity through bespoke education course delivery, expanding access to courses to upskill the volunteer and paid workforce in the designated area. The key skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for are: We are keen to hear from candidates with sound knowledge of cycling and/or sport and the associated physical activity delivery. Candidates should be aware of the current developments in cycling in terms of the transport, health and recreational agendas and should have a track record in partnership working and development where partnership programme and project delivery can be demonstrated with good organisational and project coordination skills and experience of achieving able to prioritise, plan and manage competing demands. Experience of using Social media to promote and engage audiences is desirable. This is a profession which is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check will be required.
